In 1908, the council of the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) proposed that the 100th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the 50th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species be celebrated appropriately the following year on Febru(Anonymous 1908). The museum’s archives are mute concerning how the new space was used then, but its 1903 annual report says that specimens for the Synoptic Hall of Invertebrates had been obtained and installed in the exhibit space (American Museum of Natural History 1904). In 1899, the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) completed its striking red granite facade along West 77th Street with the addition of its southeastern section. To celebrate the Darwin bicentennial, the National Academy of Sciences recreated the bust in a computer-generated copy for display at their Washington, DC headquarters. During 1960, the American Museum of Natural History returned the original bronze bust to the New York Academy of Science, where it is now on display at its headquarters in New York City. In 1935, Victor Von Hagen requested a plaster copy of the bust for a monument he was erecting on San Cristóbal in the Galapagos Islands to celebrate Darwin’s arrival in the Galapagos. Later that year, the American Museum ordered a bronze copy of the bust and presented it to Christ’s College, in Cambridge, England at the British Darwinian celebration. Created by the well-known sculptor, William Couper, the bust was placed on its tall granite pedestal at the entrance at the newly designated exhibition hall, the Charles Darwin Hall of Invertebrate Zoology. Hi guys, I would like to thank Thermaltake and all the sponsors for inviting me to this competition and making this project possible. For the 1909 Darwin Centennial, the New York Academy of Sciences gave a large bronze bust of Charles Darwin to the American Museum of Natural History. The plans, mods and build updates will be posted here, so check for updates! These will be joined together, and will allow for some serious hardware to be built into the mod. The most obvious first of all, is that I'll be using TWO Thermaltake Core P5 cases. I have some very special things planned for this mod.
Psyche was the Greek goddess of the soul. Project p5yche is named, like my other projects, after mythical gods and goddesses. I'm very excited to take part in this competition, thanks to Thermaltake and all the sponsors for making this possible. The modding community is a great thing, and the feedback I get encourages me to push the limits with every new project. I love building, creating and generally fiddling, so for me, modding is the perfect activity. I am privileged to have had the opportunity to work on projects with the support of major technology brands, and to have my work recognised at shows and within the modding community is a real honour. Over the years my passion for technology developed into custom gaming computer building and modding. I have been a computer enthusiast for as long as I can remember - my first computer was an awesome Amiga 600, and I was hooked from that point.
